INTERCHANGE - Micro Interventions on a Macro Scale
How can we use the same flexibility and response capabilities we experience via the
internet and mobile communication in our cities' public spaces?
This project was initially in response to an Urban Design Competition while I was in graduate school at Harrington College of Design in Chicago back in 2010. I had an interest in Urban Design and how utilizing different programming strategies could be used to create new ways to improve different areas in Chicago.
The idea behind coming up with a system to better provide for underserved communities and better utilize vacant property throughout the city is still very valid today, and continues to be an "Urban Design" challenge, just as it was back in 2010.
